Running out of places to store your nick-knacks? Or maybe you just need a new home for your handbags, instead of the closet floor. Either way, storage doesn’t have to mean making room in the garage, or finding an empty shelf in your already bursting closet. Here are just a few ways that you can make storage clever and easy:
Clever Storage Solutions
Make use of jewelry boxes.
The decorative boxes your jewelry arrives in are trim and sturdy enough to be mini drawer storage boxes. Bring these little guys together to create one big divided storage box that’s perfect for pens, pencils, lipstick, bobby pins, or whatever you want that clutters up your drawer space.
Store hardware in glass jars.
This method can work in your garage, basement or your craft room. First, nail or superglue the lids of the glass jars to the underside of a table, or workbench near where you store your tools, then twist the jars into place. Put nuts, and bolts into one jar, wood screws into another, and nails in another. Keep an empty jar attached as well, for easy storage when you’re working on a project and need an extra hand.
Don’t trash your empty tissue boxes.
Empty tissue boxes are more than just garbage, they can be used for quick grab-and-go storage. Need a place for your plastic grocery bags? Stuff them into an empty tissue box for an easy fix. Simply pull put a bag when you need one and you’re good to go.
Get creative with your paper towel holders.
Have an extra paper towel holder on hand? Turn it into a gift wrapping station! For easy access to ribbon, slide a few spools onto the paper towel stand’s post. Stack them according to width, and when you’re done using them tape down the ends to keep them neat and tidy.
