Fall is here, and we’re embracing it! This is a wonderful time of year to update your home décor. Fall-inspired colors, textures, and themes add something extra-special to any space, and transitioning your home for fall doesn’t take much. Every year, Bon Brise Design helps many of our clients ready their homes for fall and the upcoming holiday season. Here are a few of our favorite tips for how to do just that:

Slipcover the furniture.

Slipcovers are wonderful options for changing up your home for fall. In a recent project, we used gray slipcovers to tone down the white sofas. The slipcovers also added a soft texture. Additional throw pillows and blankets also helped complete the new look of the sofas.

Put firewood on display.

Fill a decorative basket near the fireplace with your firewood for a rustic look. Not only does this add warm wood tones to the room, but it’s also practical! You can always keep an eye on your supply, and you won’t need to run outside in the cold to restock.

Add extra lighting.

As the days grow shorter, you might want to add a lamp or two to your living spaces. By adding lamps, you can avoid using harsh overhead lighting.

Throw in new textures.

We usually feel the coziest curled up on the couch in front of the fire. Add to that cozy feeling by using throw blankets with fall-inspired textures, such as flannel or faux fur. You can add one in your bedroom, living room, and even a reading nook.

Find seasonal greenery.

We don’t often think of adding greenery in the fall, but there are plenty of fall options. Magnolia leaves and branches can bring nature indoors and add interesting accents, particularly in the dining room.
