Planning the arrival of your little one is always an exciting time. Choosing a color scheme and theme is extremely important in the planning process to create a serene, yet comfortable environment for your newborn. Looking at the plethora of choices at paint swatches should be fun, not stressful. Lighter colors will make a room appear larger and brighter, while vibrant hues will seem overpowering.

Think warm colors like light pinks, blues, yellows and greens. If you are still having trouble picking out a color scheme, narrow it down to two or three options and go shopping! Shopping for furniture and décor can give you inspiration for an entire room. Taking a break from one area of the project will allow you to move in a timely manner. Once you have your colors in mind, bring home samples and swatches to really see how they look. Choose a durable, low-VOC paint with a semi-gloss finish to easily wipe down sticky fingers, lipstick or Crayola drawings. Establish a concept and go with your vision to make a nursery worthy of your little one’s childhood.
