Organizing with color is simple and functional. Nearly every room in your home could most likely benefit from added organization, and using color can make it faster and easier to organize than by simply breaking out the label maker.
Here are seven ways you can easily add color and organization to your home at the same time!
1. Craft bins.
Craft bins are great for kids, but even adult craft spaces can benefit from them. Choose a color to represent each type of art supply you have. Try using cloth bins
for a more sophisticated look.
2. Tote bags.
You can assign different colored totes to every family member or pick a color to represent activities: green for the dog park, blue for the lake, etc. You’ll know which bag is which at a glance.
3. Towels.
If multiple family members use the same bathroom, consider color-coded towels. Assign a different color to each family member. No one likes using someone else’s towel.
4. Toy storage.
Think of a few main categories for toys and choose a color for each category. This can make cleanup time fun for kids and teach them how to stay organized at a young age.
5. Document storage.
Try keeping financial records and other documents well-organized with color to liven up your home office. You can use colored file tabs, paper bins or magazine holders to separate papers from your home, finances, business, kids and more.
6. Cabinets.
Color-coding dressers or cabinets can be great for storing children’s clothing or provide another craft room option. Try painting each door or dresser a slightly different hue or use different colored knobs and pulls.
7. Wardrobes and closets.
Make getting ready in the morning even easier by hanging your clothes in rainbow order. You can even keep accessories in color-coded bins.
